Y'all, I accidentally bought a lot new newborn props. They were so cute it was hard to resist. So I'm totally itching to use all of them. I have decided to run a special, which doesn't happen often. This is where you come in. I need you to send me some babies!!! If you aren't expecting, you can still make out with a referral credit. Send me someone you know and I will give you a free 8x10 from a past or future session. Yay, freebie! If you buy a gift certificate for someone (perfect shower gift), I will still give you the referral credit. Good deal, right?!?! The deadline to book is July 15, so hurry and go tell people! Thanks and have a blessed weekend.

I just wanted to write a blog post to share with some information on what exactly goes into an Olga Ford Photography session and some details on the different packages I offer, as well as some of my products.
First, I like to shoot outdoor sessions just after sunrise or just before sunset. I'm not a morning person at all, but when it comes to light, it has to be beautiful. Morning light gets me so excited that I literally forget I hate mornings. If you need a morning session, it is totally worth it to get up for for that sunrise light. Trust me =). Afternoon light is equally awesome. Just make sure to have a light snack, especially for the kiddos, because once we spring those clocks forward, it can run a little late. It's always best to avoid hungry becoming hangry ;). I always tell my clients that we can shoot at a dumpster with beautiful light and the images will be better than the most scenic backdrop with awful light. Light is essentially the basis of all good photography. I have recently purchased lighting modifiers, backdrops, and flooring to allow for some indoor sessions. Everything I own is portable and can set up in your home or mine. I do try to limit indoor sessions to newborns and children, due to space constraints. Seniors are welcome to come in for a few backdrop shots before we head out on location, if that is desired. Now I'd like to touch on each of my session packages. All of the pricing information can be found on www.olgafordphoto.com. Just click on Session Investment. My Silver Session package is the most popular and recommended for most portrait sessions. This is great if you only need one location. We can move around that location for variety. We will also have time for one wardrobe change, if you're creative, possibly two. Shed a jacket, add a scarf or hat and you can have even more variety. For clients that would like 2-3 locations and and extra wardrobe change or two, I offer the Gold Package. I add an extra hour and a free timeline cover for your Facebook page with this package. This is popular with my seniors (and recommended), but I have had others enjoy the extra time, wardrobe, and locations to get more images and better variety. It really is a great value! I also offer Mini Sessions. From time to time I will block out a day and offer them at one location. This is an awesome value, so be sure to keep up with me on these. They will always be announce to my newsletter crowd first. You can subscribe from the link on my homepage. I also offer Mini Sessions at any time. These are great if you just need a few digital images for invites, cards, or some gifts you would like to create. I also offer Newborn Sessions. These can be done in your home or mine. I am accumulating more and more beautiful things to be able to use for some awesome images. I'm going to need a bigger house if I get any more. Really. These sessions are unique because I keep the pace slow and calm. I allow plenty of time for feeding, changing, and clean ups, if need be. The best time to schedule your newborn session is well before your are due. I highly, highly recommend getting in before the baby is ten days old. If you are wanting a maternity session, you are in luck! I am looking to build my portfolio in that area and will be offering the first 3 moms to be to book a half price session. Of course, all of this is customizable. Just ask if you don't see what you need! I also book a limited amount of weddings and price those individually. I also offer discounted engagement and bridal sessions to wedding clients and discount maternity sessions to newborn clients. With any and every Olga Ford Photography session, you get a custom, creative and contemporary session experience. I love to go to your favorite locations. I want you to bring items that you treasure. I am here to help you plan your wardrobe to coordinate with everyone else and your location. All sessions include a consultation. We can meet, talk on the phone, text, e-mail, or whatever is best for you. The more we communicate, the better I can design your session to exceed your expectations. Oh, and speaking of design, I do that too. I can custom design cards, books, collages, and anything other product that I offer. I think I've gone on long enough, so if you have any questions or would like to book just contact me! Also, don't forget about the newsletter if you want to be in on those Mini Session announcements. http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ I'm so excited to be partnering with someone locally to offer these awesome barn wood frames! Yeah, McNairy County! The top image shows my family photo by my wonderful friend, Danielle Smith, taken back in NC. It is mounted on black foam core with a linen texture finish and it is secured in the frame with archival adhesive. I have added a close up of the wood. Of course, each frame will be unique, just like the barn wood. The bottom right images show hanging options. I can add either a sawtooth hanger or the little screw eyes on either side with wire attached, your choice. These will be ready to hang! No glass will be needed because these will be mounted prints. The prices will run as follows: 8x10-$42, 11x14-$62, 16x20-$86. You can also add a linen or pebble texture, which I absolutely love, for only $1.50. I even have a few of these ready to go right now! I have 2 8x10's and 1 11x14. After these go I will custom order as needed. Can't wait to get your beautiful images set up as a one of a kind piece of art for you, clients!
http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ So excited about my new backdrops! I went with some pretty all purpose designs. The dried flowers will make a really pretty floor drop. The rustic shutters are just plain awesome. I have a rug that matches the one that looks like blue cut up paper. The wall with the trim inlays is very all purpose. The white buttons are classic. The cream lights are also great for pretty much any session. Now I have a decent arsenal and am pretty stoked to shoot! I have a session with a sweet one year old to break some in this week. Can't wait!
http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ Hey everyone! I am actually putting my newsletter in the blog because I there is some really good info in there and I don't want anyone to miss out, especially if you've already scheduled your fall session with me. The topic of the month is Christmas cards. Mostly everybody would like to use their professional images for their Christmas cards. I offer several ways you can do that! Of course, you can order them through me. They even come with envelopes. Easy peasy! I am also offering a DIY option this year. For only $15 you will get your choice of 3 digital images sized to a 4x6 with print release. You can also use this for save the dates, party invites, birth announcements, or whatever you fancy (gosh, I love that word). That's a win win for you! I have very few openings remaining in November, so if you are waiting on securing your date, do it now. For reals. Hope this has been helpful. If you'd like to sign up for future editions of my newsletter, just head to my home page and click on the link near the bottom. Happy fall y'all! http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ Timing is everything. I never thought I would want to get into wedding photography. Pressure, long shooting hours, longer editing hours were all things that had gone through my mind every time I was contacted to shoot a wedding. I had taken a full time job last October so that solidified the most definite lack of time. I continued to concentrate on portrait photography while working. When the weather finally broke, the messages and phone calls for sessions started coming in. I decided to step out in faith and go down to part time hours at my other job. No lie, within days, I was contacted about shooting a wedding. Since I had begun to start getting pretty acclimated here in McNairy County, in addition to now having the time, I decided to just do it! Well y'all, let me just tell you I did not regret it! It was such an honor to capture such a special day for a wonderful couple. Does Lauren not look like a princess? Perfect, right? The bridal party and groomsmen were fun to photograph. We even had great weather, which was nowhere in any forecast, and got to shoot outside. It really was a great experience for my first time being the main wedding shooter. Best wishes to Lauren and Lynn!!! I'm so happy I got to be your wedding photographer! Ahhhhh, how I love to photograph newborns!!! They are an absolute blessing and I treasure capturing sweet memories for their families. You can't compare newborn sessions to any other. There are so many elements that go into making a newborn session amazing. The first is when to book the session. The answer to that is as soon you have a due date. Really! The optimal time to get those beautiful "sleeping baby" images with super cute poses is at 7-10 days. Beyond that time frame, babies start to wake up more and won't be in a deep enough sleep for some poses. It's best to let me pencil you in and we can later put your baby's session down in pen after he/she is born. You can give someone the simple instruction of "text the photographer" and we will be on! Next is time. I like to allow PLENTY of time for a newborn session, like 3 hours. This keeps a calm environment for baby, parent(s), any anyone else that may be a part of the session experience. Baby may need to eat or have a diaper change and that amount of session time will allow for any of that to keep a content baby for gorgeous images. Last is location. My favorite place to capture a newborn session is right in their own home. I think it's the perfect opportunity for a lifestyle session. Babies tend to be more comfortable in their own environment, plus I get to capture their super cute nursery as part of the session. Of course, this is not always possible and I have studio space available if needed. That, of course, is just the beginning. There is a lot of behind the scenes editing for perfect skin tones as well as compositing images for some of those poses that leave you wondering how they were done (those are the ones that can only be done with a 7-10 day old baby). I hope I've left you with some good information on what goes into an OFP newborn session. You can get more information on pricing by going to my home page and clicking on session investment http://www.olgafordphoto.com. Make sure to pass this info along, and remember, I have a referral program! I am so excited to introduce y'all to my MCHS Senior Rep, Jill Whirley! She was so fun to work with for this mini session and was game to shoot on a chilly night so I could try something different. Love her! She started with a hair and makeup session with Kelcey Amerson, who will be available to book with any Olga Ford Photography senior session. Yay! I'm so excited to be working with her to really take senior portraits to an epically awesome level in this county! I'll feature Kelcey in another blog post with more details, so stay tuned and make sure you're connected with me on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter! I soooo loved working with Jill to get these images. While having her hair and makeup done, I went through her closet and picked out her wardrobe =). I envisioned the shot I wanted and with the use of my off camera flash set up, I got that black and white in the chair exactly how I wanted it. I totally think it looks like an album cover! Jill will have her actual session in the spring, during daylight hours, but I really wanted to get some images out there for a little sneak peek to get y'all excited for senior session season. I really take pride in what I do and I can't wait to create more custom images for all my senior sessions. I work with my seniors to create images they and their parents will treasure for a lifetime. Every session is custom, casual and contemporary and we have a lot of fun! I help with wardrobe and location choices that will not only look great, but showcase the personality of my seniors. It's really not too early to book, so message or call me to reserve your spot, as they are limited. If you go to MCHS, make sure you tell Jill just fabulous she looks in these senior pictures and when you book your session, mention Jill referred you =). Thanks for reading! http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ This little girl totally stole my heart! Newborn photography is definitely an art form and requires a whole lot of patience. I discovered that, somehow I have the patience it takes to spend many hours photographing a newborn to get some awesome images. After spending the morning with this beauty, I got to spend a few more hours editing her images while saying "She's so cute" repeatedly. A newborn baby is just such a precious gift from God and I am so blessed to have been able to capture such an amazing moment in a parent's life. I like to take a lifestyle approach to newborn sessions. All these images were taken at her home, holding that many more special memories. It's amazing how fast these little moments slip away. There's nothing I love more than creating a tangible way to hold on just a little longer. It's incredible how long I can spend looking through old photographs of mine. I know, one day, these images will evoke such precious memories of a tiny little girl who is now all grown up. I really don't think I could have chosen a career path I value more. Well, in all actuality, it seems to have chosen me when I stepped into my graphic design program. I find such joy in meeting all of my clients and working with them to give them something beautiful. This is not just a job. It's an honor, a privilege and I thank all of my clients for allowing me to be the one to create heirlooms they will cherish for years to come. God bless! http://www.olgafordphoto.com/ |
